Xanga Investment & Development (XID) is a private capital investment enterprise committed to serving the development of the city of Debrecen and the surrounding area. “Our services range from private capital investment, industrial infrastructure and public utility development, turnkey industrial real estate development and business consulting to preparing and managing grant applications, financial and accounting services and legal advising,” István Herdon, the company’s managing director and majority shareholder, describes the comprehensive portfolio.
XID is the developer of Debrecen Regional and Innovation Industrial Park, which was established in 1997. In the park, XID provides turnkey industrial and infrastructure solutions to both local and foreign enterprises on the basis of long-term rental agreements. The industrial park includes the Xanga Office Park, a low-cost, shared service centre opened at the end of 2012.
In addition to the industrial park and office park, XID is involved in developing the infrastructure of Debrecen International Airport. “We have many high-tech firms in the industrial park that depend on quick air cargo connections,” says Mr. Herdon. “To provide our customers with optimum freight solutions, we are currently establishing an intermodal logistics base which will be unique in the whole of Eastern Europe and significantly enhance the region’s competitiveness.”
Debrecen is the second largest airport in Hungary and one of the fastest developing. “In 2013, we expect to pass the 100,000 passenger threshold,” states Mr. Herdon. XID is 100% Hungarian owned and employs 20 people plus another 60 at Debrecen International Airport.
Of the total 100 ha in Debrecen Regional and Innovation Industrial Park, the company has already developed 60%. The remainder is under development or still available. XID currently provides infrastructure to 37 firms in the industrial park, with a focus on manufacturing and logistics businesses.
In 2013, the company is tackling two new, major development projects simultaneously: a 24,000 m2 production facility and a 20,000 m2 logistics center with reloading station and railway siding. “Both projects will be realized as turnkey solutions,” explains Mr. Herdon.
With its infrastructure development services, XID is operating in a market with strong demand. “We have more potential investors than completed buildings,” says Mr. Herdon.
